Made during my time training with Master Lee Hyang-gu in Icheon, South Korea, where I became his longest-term international student. Like all handmade ceramics, subtle variations and individual character are part of what makes each moon jar unique.

Artist Notes

Harvey is part of the Two Lines That Almost Meet series. During the wood firing, the hand-painted cobalt decoration developed a small number of pinholes and subtle variations within the brushwork. Together with the occasional fine cobalt speck on the porcelain surface, these are characteristic of this individual firing and reflect the interaction between the hand-painted decoration and the kiln atmosphere.

These cosmetic characteristics are unique to this moon jar, do not affect its structural integrity, and have been reflected in the price. Close-up photographs have been included for reference below.
