“Kit” was created during my time training under Master Lee Hyang-gu in Icheon, South Korea, where I became his longest-term international student.
Part of my Two Lines That Almost Meet series, Kit explores the possibilities held in an almost. Two hand-painted cobalt lines travel around the porcelain form, drawing close without quite touching. For me, the space between them leaves room for another life, a different choice, or something that might have been. The meaning remains open to whoever lives with the piece.
Painted using cobalt prepared in Master Lee’s studio, the brushwork moves from broad, deep blue strokes to fine, tapered ends. Against the pale glaze, these gestures give Kit a sense of movement that changes as you turn the vessel. It brings together my study of the moon jar form and an exploration of the possibilities suggested by two lines that never quite meet.
Reserve This Moon Jar
The first completed reservation request received for each available moon jar will be offered the opportunity to purchase that piece.
If your reservation is successful, you will receive, within approximately 24 hours:
a personalised shipping quote, and
a Stripe invoice for the moon jar and shipping.
Your reservation will be held for 48 hours from the time your shipping quote and Stripe invoice are sent.
During this time, you may decide whether you would like to proceed. Submitting a reservation request does not commit you to purchasing the artwork.
If payment is not received within the 48-hour reservation period, or you choose not to proceed, the moon jar will be offered to the next collector in line.
Each moon jar is carefully packaged using protective materials and shipped with a tracked delivery service from Sydney, Australia.
Every moon jar includes a hand-signed Certificate of Authenticity.
